A Concert in the Park will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, August 1st at Upsala City Park. In the case of rain it would be moved to Upsala Area School Auditorium. Bring your own Chair. An ice cream social will also be held at this event.

A Corn Boil will be held from 5:00-7:30pm on Friday, August 1st at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillman. Cost is $8 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 5-10, and free for kids under 5.

The 20th annual Royalton Platte River Day is on Saturday, August 2nd. The parade begins at 10:30am; youth tractor pull at 2:30pm; kids firefighter challenge at 3:30pm; hot dog eating contest at 5:00pm; pork chop dinner from 5:30-7:00pm and a street dance with "Chaser" from 8:00pm-12:00am. The Charles Lindbergh Historical Site will be hosting Meet the Lindberghs on Saturday August 2nd. Tours are available from 10am to 4pm.  Guests will learn what life was like for Charles Lindbergh growing up on a farm during the First World War and see what inspired his interest in aviation, technology and nature.

A Pancake, Sausage and Egg Breakfast will be held from 8:00am-12:00pm on Sunday, August 3rd at the Little Falls Senior Center. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-10, and free for kids 5 and under.

St. Joseph's Parish in Pierz will be hosting its Summer Festival Sunday August 3rd.  A Polka Mass starts at 10am featuring Dale Dahmen and the Polka Beats.  Lunch served from 11:00am-2:00pm; $9.50 for adults, $5 for children 6-11, free for children 5 and under.  Full day of activities include games, music and much more.

The sports meeting for parents, athletes and coaches has been scheduled for Monday, August 4th. This meeting is for all 7-12 graders involved in any sport in any season. The meeting will take place at the Pierz Healy High School in the MAC gym. Registration will start at 6:30pm with the meeting to follow. This is an informational meeting that both parents and athletes are encouraged to attend. Community Country Church in Holdingford is presenting the Wissmann & Kingrey Families in Concert on Monday, August 4th at 7pm. Come enjoy a night full of blue grass music and laughter! The concert is free of charge and will have a ice cream social afterwards.

The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls invite the public to attend the 2014 Green Fair Folk Festival on Wednesday, August 6th from 4-8pm on the west lawn at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls. A  Pierz Community Picnic will be held on Wednesday, August 6th from 5:00-7:00pm at Pierz City park.

A Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, August 8th at the Taylor Chabet Twitchell Playground behind the Assembly of God Church on the north side of Little Falls. Ice cream bars available and balloons at the event. The playground is already open to the public.

The Morrison County Fair is Thursday, August 7th thru Sunday, August 10th at the fairgrounds east of Little Falls. Grandstand events are a Motocross on Wednesday, August 6th at 7:00pm; Tuff Truck and Car Competition on Thursday, August 7th at 7:00pm; Demolition Derby at 7:00pm on Friday, August 8th; and a 4 x 4 Truck and Tractor Pull on Saturday, August 9th at 3:00pm. Thursday is Military Day. Friday is Motoring Day (Auto Show from 2:00-7:00pm). Saturday is Kids Day. Sunday is Senior Citizen's Day.

St. James Church in Randall will host their 23rd annual August Fest on Sunday, August 10th. Mass at 10:00am. Chicken and Ham dinner from 10:30am-2:00pm. Dinner is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-10, and free for kids 4 and under. The day also features Bingo, Silent Auction, and a Live Auction at 3:00pm. For information call Tony at 749-2428.

A National Night Out Open House will be held from 4:30-7:30pm on Tuesday, August 12th at the Little Falls Fire Department. At the event  there will be a free cookout, face painting, bicycle safety clinics, fire trucks, SWAT team, Dive team and displays.

The Lindbergh Historical site will be hosting a showing of Birth of Flight: Jet Aircraft Development on Tuesday, August 12th. The episode highlights how flying at the speed of sound was made a reality when traditional rivals Britain and France collaborated to build the world's first Concorde, a jet that could traverse the Atlantic in just three hours, at twice the speed of sound.  The showing begins at 7pm.

A Classic Car Show will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, August 13th at the Falls Ballroom in Little Falls.

The Backus Lions will have a Peach Sale beginning at 7:30am on Wednesday, August 13th at the 371 Liquor Parking Lot north of Backus. Profits help fund Backus Lions projects.

A Dinner Theatre "FUN-Raiser" with the Church Ladies Extravaganza will be on both Thursday, August 14th and Friday, August 15th at the Falls Ballroom in Little Falls. Social Hour at 5:30pm with the Dinner/Show at 6:30pm. Tickets are available until August 8th. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. For tickets call 632-9140.

A Rock the Park will be held from 6:00-10:00pm on Saturday, August 16th at Maple Island Park in Little Falls. It will be a free event.

The 23rd annual Ride For Eyes will be on Saturday, August 16th. Registration begins at 1:00pm and the ride starts at 2:00pm. The ride will start and end at Herbie's Bar in Sobieski. $10 minimum pledge per person. A live auction will follow the ride. For information call Mark at 632-9730.

Music in the Park will be taking place Thursday, August 21st from 7:00-8:30pm at Bingo Park in Randall.  

The Little Falls Senior Center will be hosting Polkas and Old Fun Music on Thursday, August 21st at 2:30pm.  They'll be featuring music by Russell Doke and meal starts at 5pm.  Call 632-8200 by Wednesday, August 20th for meal reservations

The 30th annual Pierz Oktoberfest celebration will wrap up with its annual Day at the Park and Parade on Sunday, August 24th. Numerous events the week leading up to that day. More details as they become available.

Ruby's Pantry Food Distribution will be held from 4:30-6:00pm on the 4th Monday every month including Monday, August 25th at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls. $20 per box of food. The Pierz Commercial Club invites everyone to another “Rock, Roll, and Stroll” on Thursday, August 28th. From 6:00-9:00pm on Thursday, August 28th custom and classic cars will line Main Street while guests enjoy music, a nice stroll and food. Owners of custom or vintage vehicles can register at 5:30pm on the grassy area of the St. Joseph Church parking lot. Guests will vote for their favorites in the car show to become the “Car of the Month”.

The Little Falls Senior Center will be hosting Summer Dance on Thursday, August 28th at 2:30pm.  They'll be featuring music by Social Security Express and meal starts at 5pm.  Call 632-8200 by Wednesday, August 27th for meal reservations

The Little Falls Arts and Crafts Fair will be held from 8:00am-6:00pm on Saturday, September 6th and from 9:00am-4:00pm on Sunday, September 7th in downtown Little Falls. Use the free shuttle bus. Shuttle bus parking is available at the Morrison County Fairgrounds.

The Antiques and Collectibles Fair will be held from 8:00am-6:00pm on Saturday, September 6th and from 9:00am-4:00pm on Sunday, September 7th at LeBourget Park in Little Falls.

The Lone Eagle Auto Show and Swap Meet starts at 7:00am on Sunday, September 7th at the Morrison County Fairgrounds. For information call Karen or Wayne at (320) 632-6849.
